    To become a ClearSpeed Developer, sign up online at developer.clearspeed.com   Upon ClearSpeed’s review and approval of the membership application, members will receive their Developer login and password.

  2. Is there a membership fee?
    No, there is no fee to join the ClearSpeed Developer Program.

  3. What are the membership requirements?

    The ClearSpeed Developer Program is for people interested in learning about and sharing their knowledge of using floating point acceleration technology

  4. What are the membership benefits?

    The benefits of being a ClearSpeed Developer include access to:

    • Developer website
    • ClearSpeed development forums
    • Technical updates
    • Developer-focused bundles
    • Early access to new software releases
    • User group meetings and events
  5. How do Developers purchase ClearSpeed products?

  6. Why can’t I post a message in the discussion forums?

    To post or reply to a message, you must be logged in as a developer.  If you don’t have a developer login, we invite you to sign up at developer.clearspeed.com/about/join/.

Development Questions

  1. What technical knowledge is required to port an application to ClearSpeed?
    Developer experience that would be useful include
    • C programming
    • Decomposing problems for parallel execution
    • Detailed understanding of one or more common processors
    • Porting single-threaded codes to parallel code
    • Some knowledge of programming in assembly code may be useful, but is not essential
  2. What platforms does ClearSpeed run on?

  3. What tools are available for developing or porting applications on the ClearSpeed platform?
    The ClearSpeed SDK provides a full suite of professional software development tools built around an ANSI C-based cross compiler. It is designed to enable developers to write and debug code in order to port existing applications or develop new applications for the ClearSpeed Advance cards.

  4. Does the CSX processor run standard software?
    ClearSpeed’s CSXL library can be used to directly accelerate applications which use standard host math libraries for a number of common BLAS and LAPACK functions.

  5. How do I install the SDK?
    Installation instructions for the SDK can be found on the ClearSpeed customer support web site.

  6. Where do I go to download development tools?
    All ClearSpeed's software products can be downloaded from the customer support website: https://support.clearspeed.com/downloads/
    Developers will need to log in to download the development tools they have purchased. If you have not yet been sent login details for your account please contact ClearSpeed support.
  7. How can I get help with porting my application?
    Developer Forums are a good, free resource for development applications.
